Manuscripts submitted to the journal must be written in British English. Submissions may consist of original English-language manuscripts or professionally translated texts. Authors are responsible for ensuring the linguistic accuracy and academic quality of the submitted manuscript. Automatically generated or machine-produced translations are not accepted as a substitute for professional translation.
Manuscripts must be prepared in .doc or .docx format and submitted either by email to info@jesi.stratum.press or through the “Submit Article” section of the journal website. A separate file containing complete information about all authors in English, including their names, affiliations and ORCID identifiers, must accompany the submission.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine their compliance with the journal’s aims and scope, submission requirements and basic academic standards. Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are subject to similarity checking and assessment for potential plagiarism or other publication ethics concerns, followed by external peer review in accordance with the journal’s peer-review policy. A manuscript may be accepted for publication only after the required editorial and peer-review procedures have been completed successfully.
Submitted manuscripts must fall within the aims and scope of the journal and comply with its manuscript preparation and publication requirements. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the material presented, the reliability of the data and other information reported, the appropriate acknowledgement and citation of sources, and the accuracy of the information provided about authorship and affiliations.
The journal normally accepts manuscripts with no more than five authors. Authorship must accurately reflect substantial contributions to the work, and individuals who qualify for authorship must not be omitted solely in order to comply with the numerical limit. Where more than five individuals have made contributions that justify authorship, the corresponding author should contact the Editorial Office before submission.
The list and order of authors should be agreed by all authors before submission. Requests to add, remove or rearrange authors after submission may be considered only where a valid reason is provided. Such requests must be submitted to the Editorial Office and may require written agreement from all authors concerned. Any change is subject to editorial approval and will be handled in accordance with the journal’s authorship policy and recognised publication ethics principles.
The Editorial Board may reject a manuscript during the initial assessment or following peer review, or may return it to the authors for revision where amendments are required. Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript’s relevance to the journal, academic quality, originality, compliance with publication requirements, peer-review reports and adherence to publication ethics.
The journal follows recognised principles of publication ethics and scholarly publishing, including appropriate procedures for addressing suspected plagiarism, improper authorship, fabrication or falsification of data, conflict of interest and other forms of research or publication misconduct.
